Rock Your World first-timer streaks to maiden special weight win

Oriole Way opened up a lead at the top of the Monmouth Park stretch on her way to a debut victory in a five-furlong maiden special weight sprint on Saturday afternoon.

The 2-year-old filly is the third winner for Rock Your World, tying him for the top spot on the First-Crop Sire list. His previous maiden special weight winners are Khon Han on May 13 at Gulfstream Park and Color Comin’ In May 15 at Churchill Downs, the latter also a TDN Rising Star.

Oriole Way was in a three-way battle for the lead, with odds-on favorite Sushi setting a swift early pace. Sushi yielded to Oriole Way just before turning for home. The eventual winner spurted clear at the top of the stretch and easily held off Rosies Cornet to win by 1 ½-lengths.

Oriole Way is owned by Railsplitters Farm and was bred by Spruce Lane, Brady Horse Racing, J. Carroll, R. Carroll, T. Perotti et al. The bay filly is the second foal out of multiple stakes performer Elegant Zip.
