Sovereignty scored an emphatic 10-length victory in Saturday’s $1.25 million Travers S. (G1) at Saratoga to give the 3-year-old Into Mischief colt his fourth straight graded stakes win.

Sovereignty’s win capped a huge day at Saratoga for Into Mischief that also included Patch Adams winning the H. Allen Jerkens S. (G1). Into Mischief is dominating both the 2025 General Sire list and 3-year-old sire list once again this year.

Sovereignty was facing just four foes in the 1 ¼-mile Midsummer Derby. The speedy Magnitude set the early pace, with Sovereignty content in fourth for the first five furlongs. Going into the final turn, Bracket Buster took over from Magnitude, as Sovereignty began to pick up steam. Sovereignty rolled to the front turning for home and Bracket Buster fought back until a furlong to run, when Sovereignty pulled away powerfully to win with authority.

The final time of 2:00.84 on a fast track earned Sovereignty a career-best Beyer Speed Figure of 115.

“Our horse just proved how good he was when he pulled away in the last eighth of a mile,” winning Hall of Fame trainer Bill Mott said. “He’s pretty special.”

Owned by his breeder Godolphin, Sovereignty is 6-2-0 in nine starts and has earned $5,835,300.

“I don’t know how much bigger it gets than this,” Mott added when asked about his colt’s next outing. “Of course, the Breeders’ Cup (Classic) is at the end of the year, and we’ve always got to consider that.”
