Speightstown Sprint S. goes to Vino Rosso’s Souper Tuscan

Souper Tuscan became Vino Rosso’s newest stakes winner on Memorial Day at Lone Star Park with a dramatic win in the $100,000 Speightstown Sprint S.

Stakes-placed last year, Souper Tuscan is the fourth stakes winner this year for Vino Rosso, tying him with Omaha Beach for the most black type horses by any Fourth-Crop sire of 2026.

Souper Tuscan tracked in midpack early in the six-furlong race before making a four-wide move on the turn to take aim on the leaders. He forged to the front with a sixteenth to run, then dug in to hold off late-charging For All Mankind by a neck.

The 4-year-old winner is owned by C2 Racing Stable LLC and was bred in Ontario by Entourage Stable. Souper Tuscan’s overall record is 5-1-2 from 11 starts, with earnings of $223,029.
