Steeler Mischief makes debut a winning one

September 4, 2023

Leading First-Crop sire Maximus Mischief continues to add new winners to his growing list at an impressive rate, with three in the past week.

The latest came Sunday at Hawthorne when Steeler Mischief won a five-furlong maiden special weight contest, making him the 18th 2-year-old winner of the year for his sire.

Steeler Mischief, who was making his debut, was among horses in midpack until turning for home, when he swung four-wide to make his run. Despite racing greenly in the stretch, the bay colt hit the wire a neck in front of Gavel for the win [WATCH RACE].

The winner is owned by Don Arienzo Stable LLC and was bred in Kentucky by E. H. Beau Lane. Steeler Mischief is out of Heart Union and is from the family of Grade 1 winner Corrazona.
