Thousand Words 2YO breaks maiden impressively in Louisiana Cup Juvenile
August 31, 2025
Two Good Old Guys ran away from the field in the Louisiana Downs stretch to post a 5 ¾-length victory in the $75,000 Louisiana Cup Juvenile S. Aug. 30 at Louisiana Downs [WATCH RACE].
A top-10 Second-Crop sire by earnings, Thousand Words is second only to Vekoma by stakes winners, currently with six.
Two Good Old Guys, who was making just his second lifetime start, took the fight to his foes immediately with a very alert break. He had a narrow advantage over Golden Mane after a quarter-mile, but soon after put him away and began to distance himself. Up two lengths turning for home, he added to that margin down the stretch to win in eye-catching fashion.
Two Good Old Guys is owned by Allen Landry and Larry Romero and was bred by Tom Curtis and Wayne Simpson.
