Thousand Words filly repels challengers to win Azalea S.

July 13, 2025

Andrea fought off a stiff challenge from Nerazurri to earn her first stakes win in Saturday’s $75,000 Azalea S. at Gulfstream Park.

The 3-year-old Thousand Words filly, who was second in the May 31st Game Face S. over the same surface, proved best in Saturday’s seven-furlong contest with a stalking trip. She sat second to Fede before taking over at the quarter pole. Nerazurri mounted a challenge on the outside, but Andrea was up to the task, winning by a half-length in 1:22.38 on a fast track.

Andrea is owned by C2 Racing Stable LLC, Kuehne Racing and Mark Corrado. Her record now stands at 4-1-0 in 8 starts, with earnings of $151,900. The dark bay filly was bred by Scott Pierce in Kentucky.

Thousand Words is a top-three Second-Crop sire by both stakes winners, with five, and winners, with 34. Thousand Words stood the 2025 season for $12,500 live foal.
