Into Mischief got his landmark 40th Graded Stakes winner in Friday’s $150,000 Beaumont S. (G3) at Keeneland, followed under the wire by Slumber Party (by Malibu Moon) and Amalfi Princess (Temple City) to complete a sweep of the top three spots by daughters of Spendthrift stallions.

Twenty Carat was ridden very confidently by Luis Saez from the outset of the “about” seven-furlong contest. Widest of all in the gate in the field of seven, Twenty Carat pressed the pace set by My Girl Red down the length of the backstretch. After the field passed the three-furlong marker, Twenty Carat made a quick move to take the lead and never looked back, Slumber Party by 1 ½-lengths to finish the distance is a very solid 1:26.04 on a fast track. It was a similar distance to Amalfi Coast.

“She’s always been a lovely filly, done everything right. I’m very thankful,” said winning trainer Wesley Ward of the 3-year-old filly. “I think this filly has a big future, and we’re looking forward to it.”

Twenty Carat, a Three Chimneys Farm homebred, has crossed the wire first in all three of her starts to date, but was disqualified to second in her debut. Her earnings now stand at $115,600.

Into Mischief, now with 93 lifetime stakes winners, has 15 stakes winners in 2021, nine more than any other sire standing in North America this year.
