Vekoma colt leads all the way to win OBS Sales Sophomore S.

Maykomotion grabbed the lead in Saturday’s $100,000 OBS Sales Sophomore S. just a few jumps after the start and was never headed the rest of the way, winning by two lengths in the stakes debut for the 3-year-old Vekoma colt.

The striking steel-gray colt set a very solid pace of :22.74 and :45.93, with Rocky’s Balboa mounting a challenge at the top of the stretch. Despite the testing early fractions, Maykomotion had plenty left and pulled clear of the eventual runner-up to finish the seven furlongs on a fast track in 1:22.88.

Maykomotion is owned by the tandem of Bona Venture Stables and Bianco Thoroughbreds, who purchased him for $160,000 at the 2025 OBS Spring 2-year-old sale. Now 2-0-0 in three starts with earnings of $99,000, Maykomotion was bred in Florida by Dominique Damico.

Vekoma now has nine black type horses in 2026, and leads all Third-Crop sires by winners and wins. His 2026 fee is $100,000 S&N.
