Vino Rosso’s Bottle of Rouge seeks Breeders’ Cup glory

October 28, 2025

Bottle of Rouge, winner of the Del Mar Debutante (G1), is among the top choices for Friday’s $2 million Breeders’ Cup Fillies (G1) at Del Mar.

A victory by the gray/roan filly would give Vino Rosso his first Breeders’ Cup winner. Vino Rosso himself won the 2019 Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1). This year Vino Rosso has accounted for 13 stakes horses and is in the top five on the Third-Crop sire list.

After finishing second to eventual graded winner Himika in her debut, Bottle of Rouge broke her maiden by a half-dozen lengths on Aug. 9 at Del Mar, then went on to take the Debutante. She has earned $240,000 for owner Natalie Baffert, wife of trainer Bob.

Bottle of Rouge was bred in Kentucky by Kathie Maybee.

The Juvenile Fillies will be race #7 on Friday, with a post time of 6:25 pm ET.
