Red-hot Maximus Mischief gets third winner in a week

August 24, 2023

Maximus Mischief, who entered the past week already atop the First-Crop Sire list, has had a stellar past seven days, with three new winners to bring his tally to 15 individuals.

The latest came on Agu. 24 on the Colonial Downs turf course when the filly Ms. Tart scored by a widening three lengths in a 5 ½-furlong sprint for 2-year-old fillies [WATCH RACE].

Ms. Tart broke on top, but then settled back off the pace as she tracked a couple of lengths off the leaders. She held a spot along the fence around the turn, then split horses at the top of the stretch to take control. She came home unchallenged in 1:03.31 on the firm turf.

The winner is owned by Commonwealth New Era Racing, Cash is King LLC and LC Racing, who secured the filly for $145,000 at the 2022 Keeneland January sale.

Bred in Kentucky by Sovereign Farm LLC, Ms. Tart is a half-sister to stakes winner T D Dance.
