‘Rising Star’ debut for Into Mischief filly

Comical drew off to a six-length maiden special weight debut victory Sunday at Santa Anita Park in the 2-year-old filly’s career debut. She was tagged as a TDN Rising Star after the eye-catching performance, making her the ninth such horse by Into Mischief.

She joins the likes of Goldencents, Mia Mischief, Instagrand and Maximus Mischief, all who went on to become graded stakes winners for their sire.

Comical went straight to the front out of the gate and after early pressure from Golden Star Lady, shook clear at the top of the stretch and pulled clear to win by six widening lengths (VIDEO).

The winner is owned by ERJ Racing LLC, Dave Kenney and Westside Racing Stable and was bred in Kentucky by Susan Casner. Comical’s dam is a full sister to multiple Grade 1 winners Colonel John and Mr. Hot Stuff.
