Shakin It Up colt sets track record

June 29, 2018

First-Crop sire Shakin It Up tallied his third winner on June 29 when War Bridle won a hard-fought battle with Del La Hoya in a 4 1/2-furlong maiden special weight race for 2-year-olds at Belterra Park.

With previous maiden special winners at Churchill Downs and Santa Anita Park, Shakin It Up sits behind only fellow Spendthrift stallion Goldencents in the 2018 Kentucky Freshman Sire rankings.

War Bridle, owned by West Coast Racing LLC, sat second most of the trip, surging late to make up a length and a half, winning by a head in track-record time of :53.20 on a fast main track (VIDEO).

The winner was bred in Kentucky by Brandywine Farm; his dam Moonshine Bertie is from the same family as Arlington-Washington Lassie S. (G3) winner Thunder Bertie.
