Sittin At the Bar adds to impressive stakes total

April 11, 2014

Into Mischief’s lifetime leading stakes winner Sittin At the Bar was up to her winning ways again Friday evening, taking the $60,000 Hallowed Dreams S. at Evangeline Downs for career stakes victory number nine (VIDEO).

The 4-year-old filly, bred by Spendthrift Farm, passed the $700,000 mark in earnings with the measured half-length victory in the six-furlong affair named after one of Louisiana’s best distaffers of all time. The speedy Sittin At the Bar set the pace as usual, getting the distance in 1:10.34 on a fast track.

Owned by Dale Ladner and conditioned by Brett Brinkman, Sittin At the Bar has now won 11 of her 19 starts. In 2013, she helped propel Into Mischief to a top-five finish on the Second Crop sire list. The Spendthrift stallion is off to another great start this year, ranking second on the Third Crop sire list, with leading Kentucky Derby (G1) contender Vicar’s in Trouble, who won the $1 million Louisiana Derby (G2), his top earner of 2014.
