2026 Racing:

• Breaking slowly yet again in the G1 Stephen Foster, Baeza made a brilliant rally to finish second to Magnitude matching his career best Ragozin of 4- running a faster number than the winner who posted a number of .5-. Baeza defeated Champions Sovereignty and White Abarrio.
• In his first start after a 6 month break and a poor start, Baeza finished 3rd in the G2 Alysheba S. to Corporate Power and Skippylongstocking

2025 Racing:

• In a breakout performance, Baeza was the victor in the G1 Pennsylvania Derby by 2 1/4 lengths over Magnitude, Goal Oriented, So Sandy, Big Truzz, Gosger, Mo Plex, and more while running a career best 4- on the Sheets and a 105 Beyer Speed Figure for his effort. He ran the 9f in 1:48.03.
• Finishing second to foe Journalism, Baeza finished ahead of a solid field in the G1 Santa Anita Derby that included Westwood, Citizen Bull, and Barnes.
• Going wide around both turns off the pace, Baeza launched a brave drive in the stretch to finish third in the G1 Kentucky Derby to Sovereignty and Journalism by less than 3 lengths off the winner.
• In a near exact repeat of the Kentucky Derby, Baeza finished third in the Belmont Stakes to Sovereignty and Journalism and confirmed that the 2025 3yo crop of colts was one of the strongest in recent years.
• Baeza stayed glued to Kentucky Derby winner Sovereignty’s hip in the G2 Jim Dandy finishing second by a length by almost 10 lengths ahead of the next horse.
• Baeza broke his maiden in a MdSpWt at Santa Anita in February of his 3yo year professionally and earning a 9- on the Ragozin Sheets to be the fastest 3yo that week.

2023 Sales:

• Baeza sold as a yearling in the 2023 Keeneland September Yearling Auction Sale for $1,200,000 to Mayberry Farm and was consigned by Runnymede Farm

Pedigree Highlights:

• Baeza is sired by 4x Grade 1 winner and ultra-consistent McKinzie, who won a Graded Stakes Race in 4 consecutive years including G1s at 2, 3, and 4 years old. He is also the sire of other Grade 1 winners such as Chancer McPatrick and Scottish Lassie. Baeza is out of the 2025 Broodmare of the Year Puca who produced 3 consecutive Grade 1 winners and is only one of 9 broodmares in history to have produced multiple American Classic winners. Her first foal is a GSP daughter of Gun Runner, her second foal is the 2023 Kentucky Derby Champion Mage, her third foal is the multiple G1 winner Dornoch, and her fourth foal is G1 winner Baeza.
