Strike Lightning latest graded winner for Jimmy Creed

February 19, 2018

Jimmy Creed became the first Second-Crop Sire of 2018 to have more than one Graded Stakes winner this year when Strike Lightning captured the Clascio Jorge Washington (G3) at Camarero Racetrack in Puerto Rico on Feb. 18.

Kanthaka’s was his sire’s first black type winner of the year on Feb. 10 when the 3-year-old colt took the San Vicente S. (G2) at Santa Anita Park. His connections said the Triple Crown hopeful would next contest the Gotham S. (G3) March 10 at Aqueduct.

Strike Lightning has now won three straight following his come-from-behind win in the 1 1/16-mile Washington. He is trained by Raymond Morales for Establo Florida.

Bred by Spendthrift Farm, Strike Lightning is the first foal out of Shy Girl, who is a sister to a trio of stakes winners.
