Temple City filly goes gate to wire for first stakes win

July 4, 2020

Trickle In turned in a very game performance in Saturday’s Christiana S. at Delaware Park, leading all the way to win the 1 1/16-mile turf race for 3-year-old fillies by one length over Duchess of Sussex.

In registering her first stakes win, the Temple City filly has now won three of four starts lifetime and has banked $91,100 for CJ Thoroughbreds. She is the fifth stakes horse this year for her sire.

Ridden by Trevor McCarthy, Trickle In was pushed through the first six furlongs by Toolcat, who got nearly on even terms at the head of the stretch. Trickle In responded and pulled clear and comfortably held off the runner-up to finish the distance in 1:41.26 on the firm turf.

Bred in Kentucky by Fred W. Hertrich III, Trickle In is the first foal to race out of Know County Zip, who is a half-sister to Thank You Marylou, winner of the Grade 3 Dogwood S.
