Wicked Slider scores five-length maiden special weight win

June 30, 2019

Wicked Strong got his third winner from his first crop on June 29 when Wicked Slider tallied a five-length win in a 4 ½-furlong maiden special weight affair at Indiana Downs.

Wicked Slider broke alertly to press pacesetter Galileo’s Rock through three furlongs, then took over and drew off in the lane to win with room to spare.

Wicked Slider, a $40,000 Fasig-Tipton March Sale buy earlier this year, is owned by Perry & Tim Wood, David Cavanaugh, and Marvin Johnson. The chestnut colt was bred by Richard & Connie Snyder and is out of Encore Belle, whose dam is the multiple graded stakes winner Belle Cherie.

Wicked Strong is participating in Spendthrift Farm’s Safe Bet program, which assures breeders that a stallion’s first crop of two-year-olds will have at least one Graded/Group stakes winner in 2019, or the breeder will be completely relieved of the stud fee for his or her impending foal in 2020.
