Yet another Rising Star for Into Mischief

July 31, 2019

Risky Mischief sauntered to a 7 ½-length win in a six-furlong maiden special weight for 2-year-old fillies Wednesday at Saratoga to become Into Mischief’s third TDN Rising Star in the past four days (VIDEO).

Into Mischief has ascended to the top of the 2019 General Sire list with some incredible numbers: 142 individual winners, $9.5 million in progeny earnings, and double-digits in black type horses.

Risky Mischief left little doubt she was the best in Thursday’s race. After hustling to the lead from her inside post, she relaxed nicely under Jose Ortiz before accelerating away from the field on her own with three furlongs to run. With the outcome long decided, she was geared down to a jog late.

The winner is owned by Jeff Drown and was bred by Sanford Bacon. Her dam Risky Rachel was a six-time stakes winner and the daughter of graded winner Dancin Renee. Risky Rachel had a full brother to Risky Mischief earlier this year.
