Hip 2958, an attractive colt by Cross Traffic, drew plenty of attention Wednesday at the Keeneland September sale, commanding $150,000 from top buyer John Oxley. It marked the fourth highest price of the session.

Bred by Charles Merrick, the fast-looking bay colt is out of the young Super Saver mare Summer Place, who is a daughter of 2005 Kentucky Oaks-G1 winner Summerly. The colt was sold by Mulholland Farm, Agent.

The 2021 yearling crop represents the biggest and best-bred to date for Cross Traffic, who hails as North America’s champion freshman sire of 2018. One of the fastest Grade One sons of the legendary Unbridled’s Song, Cross Traffic stood the 2021 breeding season for a fee of $7,500 S&N.
