Multiple Grade 1 winner Mor Spirit, whose first foals are 2-year-olds, had a terrific opening day of the April 19-22 OBS Spring sale of 2-year-olds in Training, with four lots selling for an average of $137,500.

Leading the way was hip No. 218, purchased by Exline-Border Racing LLC, Marette Farrell, agent for $230,000. Consignor Jessie Longoria acquired the colt for $62,000 at last year’s Fasig-Tipton July sale. The dark bay Kentucky-bred had worked a furlong in ten seconds flat during the Under Tack show.

Through his third dam, the colt hails from the family of Grade 1 winners Americanrevolution and Stop Traffic, champion Cheongdam Dokki, and graded winners Silver Dust and Gouldings Green.

Mor Spirit opened the sale with hip No. 129, consigned by Kings Equine, agent, and purchased by William Werner for $150,000. The filly’s second dam Regally Appealing was a Grade 2 winner at two, while under her third dam are Rockport Harbor and Maracuja, a Grade 1 winner who runs in Saturday’s Apple Blossom H. (G1).

Mor Spirit has five lots remaining in the sale, which runs daily through Friday.
