July 15, 2025

The initial international offering from the first crop of champion Jackie’s Warrior made a big splash at the recent Japan Horse Racing Association Select Sale when his regally-bred yearling colt sold for $777,028.

Consigned by Japan’s leading breeding operation Shadai Farm, the bay colt sold locally to Maeda Hiroyuki.

The subject colt is out of stakes winner Sophia’s Song, who has had six foals to race, all winners, including Jockey Club Gold Cup (G1) winner Bright Future, Locust Grove S. (G2) winner Musical Mischief and multiple graded stakes winner and current top sprinter Booth. Sophia’s Song’s dam is a half-sister to champion Housebuster.

In the U. S. sales market, Jackie’s Warrior has a current yearling average price of $126,850. In the upcoming Saratoga Select Yearling sale, the Spendthrift stallion has a total of eight lots in the catalog.
