Maximus Mischief scores Thanksgiving Eve stakes triple

Maximus Mischief kicked off the Thanksgiving holiday weekend in stellar fashion on the eve of the holiday with three stakes winners to up his 2025 total to 10.

Maximus Mischief is a top-five Third-Crop sire of 2025 by stakes winners, stakes horses, Grade 1 stakes winners, overall winners and by progeny earnings. He will stand the 2026 season for $20,000 S&N.

Maximus Mischief scored a pair of 2-year-old stakes winners Wednesday: Tough Guy Tony in the South Mountain S. at Penn National and Mailata in the $100,000 Pennsylvania Nursery S. at Parx.

Tough Guy Tony, who has raced at five different tracks in as many starts, won the six-furlong contest by a length for his first stakes win. A winner of three of five outings, Tough Guy Tony has earned $111,825 and is owned by LC Racing LLC. The bay colt was bred in Kentucky by Frankfort Park Farm.

Mailata, who was making his stakes debut, was a sharp 3 ½-length winner in the seven-furlong race run in sloppy conditions. A homebred for Cash is King LLC and LC Racing LLC, Mailata has a record of 2-0-1 in four starts and has earned $114,500.

Rounding out the trio of stakes winners was Maximus Meridius, who won the aptly-named Let’s Give Thanks S. at Parx, giving the 4-year-old his third career stakes win.  Very consistent throughout his career, Maximus Meridius is 7-6-1 in 20 starts and has banked $599,430. The bay speedster is owned by LC Racing LLC, Cash is King LLC and Wellesley Stable and was bred by Westerly Farm.
