A filly from the first crop of champion Jackie’s Warrior hammered for $2.3 million during Wednesday’s session of the OBS Spring 2-year-olds in Training sale, the highest price ever paid for a filly at the sale and also the second-highest price ever at the sale.

The filly, who had worked a furlong in a bullet :9 3/5-seconds during the Under Tack Show, was catalogued as hip No. 570 and consigned by Hartley/DeRenzo Thoroughbreds LLC, agent. The winning bidder was D. Farrington, bidding on behalf of Mrs. Firtriani Hay.

“This one will go to Wesley Ward and she’ll stay in America,” said bloodstock agent Alex Cole who spoke on behalf of Hay after the ticket was signed as D. Farrington. “She’ll go to Keeneland. Wesley recommended her. Fitriani has a lot of horses in the U.K. and a lot of horses at Keeneland.”

The dark bay filly is out of Brazen Persuasion, winner of the Schuylerville S. (G3) at two. Brazen Persuasion has had six runners, all winners, including stakes-place Ruggs.

Through the first two days of the sale Jackie’s Warrior has accounted for five individuals who have brought at least six figures, including another filly that went through the ring on Wednesday and sold for $625,000. With nine lots sold thus far, Jackie’s Warrior has an average of $427,778.
