Bolt d’Oro had another stellar day at the 2024 OBS Spring Sale of 2-year-olds in Training when a striking gray colt brought a winning bid of $800,000 from some very high-profile connections.

Consigned by Tom McCrocklin, agent, hip No. 351 went to the Three Amigos, the nom de plume for trainer Bob Baffert’s long-time clients Mike Pegram, Karl Watson and Paul Weitman.

The Kentucky-bred colt is out of Miss Pippa, who was a stakes winner and graded-placed on the southern California circuit. Among her offspring is the stakes winner Paluxy. The colt’s second and fourth dams are also stakes winners, and his third dam produced a pair of stakes winners.

For Bolt d’Oro, the first two days of the auction have yielded an average sale price of $352,600. He has 13 individuals still scheduled to sell during the remaining two days of the auction.
