Bolt d’Oro’s first weanlings were offered for auction averaged well into six figures during Sunday’s Fasig-Tipton November sale, topped by a $280,000 filly consigned by Wynnstay Sales, agent.

The bay filly, hip No. 139, was bought by Spendthrift Farm and is the second foal out of the unraced Malibu Moon mare Clarendon Fancy. Her first foal, Quiet Company, by Temple City, is a three-time winner of $124,975.

Claredon Fancy is a full sister to Catch the Moon, the dam millionaire and Grade 1 winner Girvin, as well as graded stakes winners Cocked and Loaded and Pirate’s Punch.

With five lots sold at the one-day auction, Bolt d’Oro’s average was $116,400, more than seven times his advertised stud fee of $15,000 S&N for 2021. A multiple Grade 1 winner of over $1 million, Bolt d’Oro bred 360 mares in his first two seasons at Spendthrift.
