Cross Traffic filly impresses in MdSpWt debut

June 22, 2018

Raising the Ante scored a 4 1/2-length maiden special weight win on Friday at Evangeline Downs to become the second winner for Spendthrift Farm’s freshman sire Cross Traffic.

Making her debut in the five-furlong affair, the 2-year-old filly came from off the pace early on, sneaking up the rail at the head of the stretch before drawing off in style (VIDEO).

The winner is owned by Valene Farms and was bred by Clear Creek Stud. She is the first foal out of Ante Up Annie, a stakes-winning Majestic Warrior mare.

Cross Traffic’s initial winner, Dreaming Diamonds, also won with room to spare, scoring by over three lengths at Churchill Downs on May 3. Cross Traffic, the Grade 1-winning son of Unbridled’s Song, stands this year for $7,500 live foal stands and nurses.
