Dabo uncorks huge rally to win Bruce D. Memorial S.

August 10, 2019

Temple City’s Dabo became a two-time stakes winner on Saturday with an improbable come-from-behind victory in the $75,000 Bruce D. Memorial S. at Arlington Park (VIDEO).

Coming out of the gate in no hurry at all from the outside post in the field of 10 going a one-turn mile. Dabo fell about a dozen lengths off the lead before he began to cut into the deficit with three furlongs to run. Rolling past horses in the middle of the track, Dabo emerged with the lead and continued to pour it on to the wire, winning by 2 ¼-lengths.

Three-year-old Dabo won the Springfield S. by 5 ¼-lengths on July 27 and is now 4-0-2 in 11 starts and has earned $154,950 for West Point Thoroughbreds and Peacock Stable. He was bred by Brad Rainwater.

Temple City’s runners have made more than $3 million this year, led by Shoemaker Mile (G1) winner Bolo and multiple Grade 3 winner Valedictorian.
