Goldencents duo impresses in stakes preps at Churchill Downs

June 19, 2021

Ain’t No Elmers and Mailman Money both scored sharp allowance victories recently at Churchill Downs as their connections eye possible stakes starts in the near future.

Both 4-year-olds are by Goldencents, who is currently the leading Fourth-Crop Sire of 2021 in nearly every category and is the only sire on the list with over $3 million in progeny earnings to date.

Ain’t No Elmers earned a stellar 96 Beyer Speed Figure following her six-furlong allowance win on June 17. She covered the distance in 1:08 1/5, less than a second from the track record, while scoring by 3 ¾-lengths. The bay filly is owned by her breeder John Kerber, along with Iveta Kerber and Jon Lapczenski and has earned $244,435.

The following day Mailman Money covered the 1 1/16-miles in 1:41 4/5 to earn a Beyer Figure of 94. Like Ain’t No Elmers, Mailman Money is trained by Bret Calhoun, who also conditions Goldencents’ multiple Grade 2 winner By My Standards.

Mailman Money has earned $263,466 for Allied Racing Stable LLC, who purchased him for $150,000 at the 2019 Spring 2-year-old sale. He was bred in Kentucky by TK Stable LLC and hails from the family of Arlington Million S. (G1) winner Kicken Kris.
