Into Mystic prevails in Unbridled Sydney S.

Into Mystic racked up her second stakes win of 2021 in Thursday’s $150,000 Undbridled Sydney S. at Churchill Downs. The 5-year-old daughter of Into Mischief has three lifetime stakes victories and is one of her sire’s 17 stakes winners this year.

Ridden by Florent Geroux, who was aboard for her Nelson J. Menard Memorial S. in January, Into Mystic got an ideal stalking trip from her inside post position. After sitting just behind pacesetter Elle Z until the top of the stretch, Into Mystic came through an opening on the rail and won in a driving finish by three-quarters of a length over Change of Control on a turf course that had been deluged by day-long rains.

“She broke super sharp. I was able to keep her a little bit off the pace,” said Geroux. “Perfect trip. The rail was wide open so I took advantage of it turning for home. She was waiting around at the end. I made the lead a little sooner than I wanted, but I just took advantage of my position.”

Owned by George Coleman and Brad King, Into Mystic is 7-5-3 in 20 starts and has earned $457,923. She was bred in Kentucky by Runnymede Farm Inc. and Catesby W. Clay Investment 2 LLC.
