Jimmy Creed colt collects second stakes victory

April 15, 2019

Strike Lightning, a winner of 10 of 16 lifetime starts to date, earned the second stakes win of his career on April 14 with a 3 ¼-length score in the Clasico Jose de Diego (G3) at Camarero Race Track in Puerto Rico, the colt’s home base.

Bred by Spendthrift Farm, Strike Lightning was a Grade 3 winner last year as well and has finished worse than third only twice in his career. He is owned by Establo Florida.

Strike Lightning is out of the unraced Bernardini mare Shy Girl, whose siblings include graded stakes winner Classic Campaign and stakes winners Lindelaan and Cuyahoga.

Third-Crop Jimmy Creed has been a top-10 sire with each of his first two crops and is once again among the leaders this year with 24 individual winners and the earners of over $1.2 million to date.
