K P Creed coasts to handy maiden win

November 13, 2017

Jimmy Creed got his 16th winner from his first crop on Monday when K P Creed bested a field of 2-year-olds in a 5 1/2-half furlong maiden special weight affair by a widening three lengths in his second lifetime start.

The winner, owned by Karl Pergola, was bred by Joseph Calvo and is the first foal out of the Grand Slam mare Our Year. K P Creed sold for $60,000 to his owner at the Fasig-Tipton New York Bred Preferred Yearlings sale.

Jimmy Creed’s 16 winners ranks third on this year’s Freshman Sire list. He is also one of only three freshman sires standing in Kentucky to sire a graded stakes winner this year.
