Mia Mischief’s full sister rolls in Santa Anita debut

March 12, 2021

Missy P., a Spendthrift homebred daughter of Into Mischief, lived up to her pre-race hype with a dazzling 9 ½-length maiden special weight win Friday at Santa Anita Park to become the latest TDN Rising Star for her two-time champion sire.

Sent off the prohibitive 2-5 favorite, Missy P. sat less than a length off of Reem, who led for the first three furlongs before Missy P. effortlessly went to the front. Without being asked by Flavien Prat, she opened up at will in the stretch and was hand-ridden while finishing the 5 ½-furlongs in 1:03.71 on a “good” main track.

Trained by Hall of Famer Richard Mandella, Missy P. is a full sister to Mia Mischief, winner of the Humana Distaff S. (G1) and Eight Belles S. (G2) and over $1.2 million. Her dam Greer Lynn, currently in foal to Medaglia d’Oro, is a half-sister to graded stakes winners Sing Baby Sing and Roll Hennessey Roll.
