Mitole wraps up robust OBS 2YO sale with $325,000 colt

Mitole, one of the most-represented First-Crop stallions in the 2023 OBS March 2YO’s in Training sale, had all four of his individuals sell for at least $125,000 during Thursday’s final session of the sale.
Leading the way was a colt cataloged as hip No. 753 who was consigned by de Meric Sales, agent, and purchased by Klaravich Stable, Inc. for $325,000. The colt’s dam, Paddy’s Flight, has produced a pair of winners and is a sibling to multiple stakes winner Summer Cruise, Grade 1-placed Rebuttal, and Bluegrass Phenom, dam of champion miler Trafalgar.
Early in the session Mitole’s hip No. 586 sold for $260,000 to Bill and Corinne Heiligbrodt from the Gene Recio, agent consignment. The colt, already named Global Icon, is out of six-time stakes winner Kiss Mine, whose dam Kiss the Devil was a graded stakes winner at Churchill Downs.
Mitole concluded the sale with a total of 18 lots sold for an average of $192,199, nearly 13 times his current stud fee of $15,000.
