Moonlit Promise named Sovereign Award winner

Malibu Moon’s multiple graded stakes winner Moonlit Promise closed out her stellar career in November with a win in the Bessarabian S. (G2), propelling her to earn a Sovereign Award as Canada’s Champion Filly & Mare Sprinter of 2018 at the April 18^th ceremony.

The now 6-year-old was one of Malibu Moon’s 11 stakes winners last year and is his second champion.

In addition to winning the Bessarabain (her second consecutive victory in that event), Moonlit Promise also took the Sweet Briar Too S. and placed in three additional graded stakes.  Her career tally stands at $507,462, with a record of 8-3-2 from 18 starts. She is owned by her breeder Hill ‘n’ Dale Equine Holdings, Inc.

Moonlit Promise is a daughter of graded stakes winner Smart Surprise, who is a half-sister to multiple Grade 1 winner Court Vision and two-time stakes winner Lord Snowdon. Her third dam Weekend Surprise is the dam of Hall of Famer and Horse of the Year A.P. Indy.
