Mor Victory drives to maiden-breaking score

Mor Spirit tallied his 11^th First-Crop winner on Thursday evening at Delta Downs when Mor Victory surged late to win a seven-furlong maiden special weight race by 1 ¼-lengths.

All of Mor Spirit’s winners have come in maiden special races, with a pair of those going on to earn stakes placing in subsequent starts. Mor Spirit is top-10 nationally by winners, wins and stakes horses among First-Crop sires.

Mor Victory came from fifth at the midway point of Thursday’s race, going around horses on the turn, then running down and past the pacesetters to win going away.

The winner is owned by Norman Stables, LLC and was bred by Susan Bedwell. The chestnut 2-year-old is one of six winners out of Deputy Sarah, who is a sister to Grade 2 winner Higher World.
