The 3-year-old colt is the 60th lifetime TDN Rising Star for Into Mischief, adding to a list that includes the likes of Ted Noffey and Shred the Gnar more recently, and goes back to 2012 when eventual two-time Breeders’ Cup Mile (G1) winner Goldencents was named his first Rising Star.

After leaping in the air at the break, El Magnate spotted the field several lengths before settling into stride. He regained contact with the field going into the turn, splitting horses to get within four lengths of the lead midway on the turn. More trouble followed when he clipped heels and had to check hard nearing the quarter pole.

Gathering himself once again, El Magnate went four-wide into the stretch, and with clear running ahead of him, powered past foes with giant strides. The move prompted Woodbine track announcer Robert Geller to proclaim, “this is an impressive winner!” while El Magnate was still third with a sixteenth to run.

The winner is owned by the M Racing Group and sold for $500,000 at the 2023 Keeneland November sale as a weanling. The bay colt was bred by Bobby Flay Thoroughbreds and is out of the graded stakes winner Cover Song, who produced full-siblings to El Magnate in 2024 and 2025.
