Into Mischief juveniles in the Breeders’ Cup spotlight
October 30, 2025
Into Mischief, who is tied for the most Breeders’ Cup wins by a sire with eight, has seven chances to add to that total in the Oct. 31 – Nov. 1 championships at Del Mar, beginning on Friday with Tommy Jo in the Juvenile Fillies (G1) and Ted Noffey in the Juvenile (G1).
Undefeated Tommy Jo will be the first to run, in race 7 at 6:25 pm ET. The 2-year-old filly drew post 5 in the field of nine going 1 1/16-miles. The Spendthrift Farm homebred broke her maiden first time out July 26 at Saratoga, then came back in a month to win that track’s Spinaway S. (G1). Most recently, she earned a win in the Alcibiades (G1) after a bumping incident in the stretch.
John Velazquez has the repeat call for trainer Todd Pletcher.
Ted Noffey will be the post time favorite in the 1 1/16-mile Juvenile. Like Tommy Jo, the gray/roan colt is owned by Spendthrift Farm, trained by Pletcher, will be ridden by Velazquez, and is undefeated in three starts.
He took a very similar path to Tommy Jo to the Breeders’ Cup as well. After his initial win Aug. 2 at Saratoga, he dominated the Hopeful S. (G1), winning by 8 ½-lengths. He was likewise very impressive in the Breeders’ Futurity (G1), drawing off in the lane to win by nearly three lengths.
Ted Noffey was bred by Aaron & Marie Jones LLC and sold for $650,000 at the 2024 Keeneland September Yearling sale.
