Into Mischief’s In the Stars collects first stakes win
July 12, 2026

With a big late move coming into the stretch, In the Stars rolled to a two-length win in Saturday’s Indiana General Assembly Distaff H. at Horseshoe Indianapolis.
The victory was the first stakes score of the 4-year-old daughter of Into Mischief, who now has a nation’s-best 19 stakes winners in 2026.
In the Stars was content to sit several lengths off what was a swift early pace of :45.87. She commenced her winning move on the final bend, coming four-wide into the stretch as she went from sixth to first in just a furlong. She outfooted stablemate Princess Attitude in the final furlong to stop the timer in 1:39.44 for 1 1/16-miles on a firm turf, just a tick off the track record.
“We think she’s a nice filly,” said winning trainer Rusty Arnold. “Her last race in a graded stakes was good. She’s won four of her last six, so hopefully now she’s coming to Kentucky Downs. She loved it down there last year. That’s kind of what got her going.”
In the Stars broke her maiden by seven lengths last August at Kentucky Downs and is now 4-1-1 in 11 starts and has earned $355,812 for owner G. Watts Humphrey, Jr. The bay filly was bred in Kentucky by Orpendale/Chelston/Wynatt.
The regally-bred filly is out of Stellar Wind, the champion 3-year-old filly of 2015 who was a six-time Grade 1 winner of nearly $3 million. In the Stars is a full sister to graded stakes winner Plutarch
