Mitole’s Booth speeds to victory in Iowa Sprint S.
July 12, 2026
Booth notched his fifth career stakes win on July 11 at Prairie Meadows with a front-running score in the $100,000 Iowa Sprint S.
The 5-year-old son of Mitole is one of eight stakes horses for his sire, who is currently third on this year’s Fourth-Crop sire list, behind only fellow Spendthrift stallions Omaha Beach and Vino Rosso.
A three-time graded stakes winner, Booth’s back class proved too much to overcome by his foes in Saturday night’s six-furlong contest. Champlin pressed him for the lead for three furlongs before Booth began to edge away. He was on his own in the stretch, winning by 2 ¼-lengths in 1:08.69 on a fast track.
Booth is now 8-3-1 in 19 starts and became racing’s newest millionaire, at $1,054,436 with the winner’s share of the purse. Both is owned by William & Corinne Heiligbrodt, Jackpot Farm and Whispering Oaks Farm. He was bred in Kentucky by Clearsky Farm and is a half-brother to Grade 1 winner Bright Future and Grade 2 winner Musical Mischief.
