Fasig-Tipton July Sale features first yearlings from quartet of Spendthrift stallions

Spendthrift Farm’s four freshman sires: Arabian Lion, Forte, Taiba and Zandon, will all be represented by their first yearlings at auction in next Tuesday’s Fasig-Tipton July sale.
The quartet has a total of 19 lots catalogued in the one-day sale, with four for Forte and Taiba, five for Zandon and six for Arabian Lion.
Arabian Lion’s hip No. 77 is from the family of brilliantly fast sprinter Cuvee, and hip No. 36 is out of a sister to graded stakes winners Ova Charged and Manama Gold. Winner of the Woody Stephens S. (G1), Arabian Lion stands for $15,000 S&N.
Two-year-old Champion Male Forte is represented by a filly closely related to multiple Grade 1 winner Critical Eye and a filly from the family of multiple graded winner Bel Air Beauty, who is the dam of Canadian champion Stacked Deck. Forte, whose current fee is $35,000 S&N, has covered a total of over 300 mares in his first two years at stud.
Taiba’s first lot, hip No. 36, hails directly from the family of Horses of the Year Saint Liam and Gun Runner and Grade 1 winner Funtastic, while hip No. 113, another colt, is out of Canadian Champion Older Mare Midnight Miley. Three-time Grade 1 winner Taiba stands for $25,000 S&N.
Among Zandon’s offerings are juveniles from the families of Grade 1 winners Go For Gin, Pleasant Tap and Island Fashion. Winner of the Grade 1 Blue Grass S. and third in the Kentucky Derby (G1), Zandon stands for $7,500 S&N.
The Fasig-Tipton July Sale, held in Lexington, KY, will begin at 10 am local time.
