Let Them Watch sped to her second career stakes win Dec. 2 at Tampa Bay Downs in the six-furlong Sandpiper S. to up the 2-year-old daughter of Maximus Mischief’s overall record to three wins in four starts.

The bay filly is one of three stakes winners by her sire, the most for any First-Crop sire of 2023. Maximus Mischief is also the only freshman sire with 30 individual winners.

Let Them Watch, trained by Mike Maker, wasted no time getting to the lead as she rolled through the first quarter-mile in :22.05. She kept up the quick pace around the turn to get the half in :44.34, and had plenty left in the tank for a strong stretch run, winning by three-quarters of a length in 1:10.64 on a fast track.

“I’m never not nervous because it’s horse racing,” owner Case Chambers said. “But she is a special horse, and she loves racing in Florida, so (his nerves) weren’t as bad as normal. We’ve become friendly with Hector (jockey Hector Diaz) and he said before the race she was going to come out running. We’ll leave it up to (Maker) where she races next, because he’s one of the greatest in the world at what he does.”

Let Them watch has earned $129,095 in her three wins. She was bred in Florida by Tracy Pinchin and is a half-sister to stakes winner It’s High Time.
