Mitole a ‘First Team Sprint Sire’ by Paulick Report

Mitole’s ultra-impressive racing results in 2025 led the Paulick Report to recently name the Spendthrift stallion a “First Team Sprint Sire” for 2026.
The Report defines a Sprint sire as “veteran sire who has a proven track record of getting successful sprinters”, which clearly fits Mitole.
The champion Freshman Sire of 2023 and himself a champion sprinter in 2019, Mitole had an excellent 2025 as well. Topped by Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint (G1) winner Shisospicy, Mitole racked up nine stakes winners and four graded stakes winners to finish second on the 2025 Third-Crop Sire list, behind only fellow Spendthrift stallion Omaha Beach.
Paulick stated Mitole had eight sprint stakes winners on the year through mid-November, second only to Midshipman’s 12 among Value Sires, and his average progeny sprint earnings on the year was third-best in that group among those with over 100 sprint starters at $30,832.
