Omaha Beach’s Kingsolver breaks maiden in historic Schuylerville S.
July 4, 2025

Kingsolver surged past My Sweetheart in deep stretch to win the $150,000 Schuylerville S. on Independence Day at Saratoga.
The 2-year-old filly is the ninth stakes winner of 2025 for Omaha Beach, who leads this year’s Third-Crop sire list in almost every category.
Coming into the Schuylerville off her fifth-place debut on June 11 at Churchill Downs, Kingsolver showed she was ready for stakes competition with a very gritty effort on Friday. She was part of an early four-way duel early in the six-furlong race. Midway on the turn, My Sweetheart spurted away from the field and looked like a winner at the top of the stretch.
Kingsolver and jockey Flavien Prat began to chip away at the lead and took over the top spot with about a sixteenth to run. She drew away nicely to finish to lengths in front.
“We always liked her,” said winning trainer Rodolphe Brisset. “[Her] first race was the best maiden for two-year-old fillies we saw all spring at Churchill. The number came back strong. She got bumped, got a little green and that’s typical for a 2-year-old for us. She=s an Omaha Beach and I bought her for Storyteller [Racing, owner] in March. She’s a stakes-winner now, so value [wise], we are where we want to be and now we can have fun the rest of the year.”
Brissett was referring to owners Storyteller Racing, Michael Schroeck, Open Gate Horse Ventures, Brian Cahoe, Scott Catlett, Dave Russel, Matthew Ransdell, Michael Motley and Joel Braun.
The winner was bred in Kentucky by George Krikorian.
