Another Saratoga debut winner for Freshman Sire Omaha Beach

Alys Beach, two-year-old filly sired by freshman sire Omaha Beach, was yet another debut MdSpWt winner for her sire at Saratoga on July 30th.

Sent off at 8-1, Alys Beach was very professional in victory for a firster. The chestnut filly broke sharp and settled mid pack early. Going three wide around the turn, the game filly dove inside in the stretch, split horses and moved up the rail to bravely win by a head over the late charging Life Talk. The 6 1/2-furlong dirt race was run in a time of 1:18.58.
Alys Beach was a $120,000 yearling at the 2022 Keeneland September yearling sale for breeder Jeff Kerber. Owned by Greg Trumontin and trained by Tom Amoss, jockey Tyler Gafflione was up for the debut win. Alys Beach is out of the Bernardini mare Pray For Leslie, who also has a Vekoma yearling filly and 2023 filly by Authentic.
The win moved Omaha Beach into the top three freshman sires, with five MdSpWt winners now from 16 starters, bumping his progeny earnings to $309,892.
