Vino Rosso’s Bottle of Rouge draws post 8 for $1.5 million Kentucky Oaks (G1)

Bottle of Rouge, winner of the Del Mar Debutante (G1) last summer and the recent Virginia Oaks, drew post 8 in the field of 14, with three also-eligibles also entered in the 1 1/8-mile race for the Lilies.
The Oaks will be run on Friday, May 1st. For the first time in history the Kentucky Oaks will be run at night. As race 13 in the stakes-filled card, the Oaks has a scheduled post time of 8:40 pm ET and can be seen on the NBC family of networks.
Bottle of Rouge is trained by three-time Oaks winner Bob Baffert for his wife Jill. The gray daughter of Vino Rosso has won four of six lifetime starts and earned $577,000. In addition to the Virginia Oaks, Bottle of Rouge won the Sunland Oaks, her first start of 2026.
Bottle of Rouge will be ridden by two-time Oaks winner and Hall of Famer Mike Smith.
Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1) winner Vino Rosso has accounted for five stakes horses this year and is currently ranked second behind Omaha Beach on the Fourth-Crop Sire list. Vino Rosso stands for $7,500 S&N.
