Flashy debut earns Bolt d’Oro colt a TDN ‘Rising Star’ tag

Regent’s Park glided over a sloppy Monmouth Park racetrack to score a 3 ¼-length debut win on Memorial Day and garnering a TDN ‘Rising Star’ tag in the process.
Quickest out of the gate from his inside post, Regent’s Park was pressed for a quarter-mile by Audible Johnny, with Regent’s Park shaking him off at the top of the stretch and skipping over the surface down the stretch to win in hand.
The winner is owned by Amo Racing USA and was bred in Kentucky by Peter Blum Thoroughbreds.
“This was not the destination today. This was just the first step,” said trainer Jorge Delgado. “This is what we needed. We weren’t looking to break the track record today. We’re looking to breeze him four or five more times now to get him more fitness for the Sanford Stakes (at Saratoga).”
Currently in the top three on this year’s Fifth-Crop sire list, Bolt d’Oro has nine stakes horses this year, topped by multiple graded winner Destino d’Oro and Virginia Derby winner Incredibolt.
