Capocostello, a Grade 1 winner in Panama last September, added his second Grade 1 win on January 1 at Remon racetrack with a five-length victory in the Clasico Ano Nuevo (G1).

From Cross Traffic’s first crop, 4-year-old Capocostello has won three of his five starts, all in graded company. He is owned by Chestnut Hill Stable.

Capocostello was always prominent in the 1 ¼-mile race, tracking in second most of the way before taking over in upper stretch and drawing off late to win easily.

Capocostello was bred in Kentucky by C. Kidder and N. Cole and is out of the Successful Appeal mare Ad Litem, who is a half-sister to multiple graded stakes winner Fantastic Style.

Cross Traffic, the leading First-Crop sire of 2018, was a top-10 Second-Crop sire in 2019 with more than $2.2 million in progeny earnings and 10 stakes horses. He is standing the 2020 season for $15,000, live foal stands and nurses.
