Happy Oaks Day!
Dear Fans,
Happy Oaks Day & Derby Eve! What a world wind the last month has been preparing for this weekend. We are excited to have future Spendthrift Stallions, Bolt d’Oro and Free Drop Billy, running on Saturday in the Kentucky Derby alongside Spendthrift-Sired Mangum Moon (Malibu Moon) and Audible (Into Mischief). Not to mention Queen B and Into Mischief’s half brother, Mendelssohn! Derby Week always brings exciting visitors to Lexington and this year is no exception – Beholder’s trainer, Richard Mandella, visited the farm a few days ago to catch up with Queen B and meet Q B One.
Beholder recognized her old friend immediately, armed with peppermints, and spent some time in her paddock with him. You’ll see some photos in the gallery below of the special moment! Q B One seems to be very interested in what Richard has to say.
We wish safe travels to everyone headed to Churchill!
Thanks,
Team Spendthrift
P.S. Queen B’s birthday is coming soon! Look for an exciting announcement on that day!
