June 13, 2026
Chasten drew off to a 6 ¼-length victory in Saturday’s Obeah S. at Delaware Park to give the 4-year-old Into Mischief filly her second stakes win of 2026.
The Juddmonte homebred has had an excellent year, winning three of four starts. She is one of 16 stakes winners this year for Into Mischief. One of his four Grade 1 winners in 2026, Shred the Gnar, handed Chasten her only defeat this season.
Away in good order, Chasten was fourth around the first turn then moved into third for the backstretch run. Going into the final bend, Chasten cruised up into second and set her sights on Amalfi Drive. After a tussle in upper stretch, Chasten powered away and won as much the best in 1:43.83 on a fast track.
With the win, Chasten’s overall record is 4-1-0 in eight starts, with earnings of $313,684. Out of the multiple Grade 1-placed mare Lockdown, Chasten is a half-sister to two-time champion Older Dirt Female Idiomatic. Lockdown herself is a half-sister to champion older mare Close Hatches.
