June 17, 2026

A fleet-footed filly from the first crop of Belmont S. (G1) winner Mo Donegal brought a winning bid of $370,000 during Tuesday’s opening session of the OBS June 2-year-olds in Training sale, the highest price paid for a filly, and second-highest overall, for the day.
Consigned by Envision Equine, agent, hip No. 93 had breezed a furlong in :09 4/5 during the Under Tack show. The filly was purchased by Donato Lanni on behalf of Frank Fletcher Racing Operations.
“We wanted to buy a filly for Frank,” Lanni said. “He and Bob (Baffert) are really good friends. They have a huge amount of respect for each other. So he wants to send this one to Bob. Bob is coming to Churchill and Oaklawn and Frank’s an Oaklawn guy and he likes Churchill. We are going to look at running her there.”
Bred in Kentucky by Forever Spring Farm, the bay filly is out of the multiple stakes-placed mare Bakken Baby. This is the family of Spinster S. (G1) winner Try Something New.
In addition to the Belmont, Mo Donegal won the Wood Memorial (G2) and the Remsen S. (G2) at two. Mo Donegal’s current stud fee is $5,000 S&N.
